God's Holy Days

for 2008

Weekly Sabbath- The seventh day Sabbath (Saturday) was set aside as a physical and spiritual day of rest on which to worship God. This day will be in force till all is fulfilled.

Passover-The New Testament Passover is on April 19th. It is observed the evening before (April 18th)  as the sun sets. It is observed with communion of unleavened bread and wine symbolizing the body of Christ which was broken for us and His blood which was shed for the remission of sins.

Days of Unleavened Bread- The Days of Unleavened Bread are observed this year on April 20th thru 26th. The leavening is symbolic of sin. The Israelites were commanded to rid their homes of leavening and eat unleavened bread for seven days. These days now celebrate sin being put out of our lives.

Pentecost- Pentecost is observed this year on June 8th. It looks to the first fruit harvest of God's elect ( His chosen ones). The Holy Spirit was also sent to reside in and help true believers in Christ on this day.

Feast of Trumpets- The Feast of Trumpets is observed September 30th. It  pictures  the return of Jesus Christ at the seventh trumpet blast in Revelation.

Day of Atonement- The Day of Atonement is observed October 9th. This high day pictures a future event of Satan the Devil  (the one who causes all sin) being locked away for a thousand years so he cannot deceive mankind during Christ's thousand-year reign. Then the breech that Satan caused between God and man will be mended and then man can truly be at one with God.

Feast of Tabernacles These days are observed October 14th thru October 20th. These days picture the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ.

The Last Great Day The Last Great Day is observed October 21st. This day pictures all opposition to God coming to an end. This means all who refuse to obey God will be thrown into the lake of fire.. There will be new heavens and a new earth and the new Jerusalem will come down from heaven.

Preparations for this year's Feast of Tabernacles are underway.
